Schueberfouer Luxembourg

Schueberfouer

Schueberfouer has been around for almost 700 years. In 2017, it will be its 677th edition, between August 23rd and September 11th. It’s the biggest and oldest funfair in Luxembourg and some say it’s the oldest in the world, although this is questionable, as it was just a huge market at first, when it was founded by John the Blind, on 20th of October 1340. The shows, concerts and fun games only appeared after 450 years, in the 18th century, and the Schueberfouer was moved to its actual site, in the place called Glacis Square today (Fouerplaatz) – which usually …

Park Sennesraich in Lullange

Sënnesräich Park in Lullange

This past weekend, we had some family fun at Sënnesräich Park in Lullange. Have you visited  this place yet? It’s great! The kids were delighted by the playground and the green labyrinth. The garden is open every day: While the park itself is nice, but may not seem very special under Luxembourgish standards (there’s a great park everywhere you go), everything changes when you enter the 5 senses rooms, the indoor part of the complex. Now, that’s a well done leisure area, both for kids and grown ups. They have so much fun things to do there! The 5 senses rooms are …

Luxembourg aerial evening views

As promised, I came back to City Skyliner today and shot some evening photos of Luxembourg city from above. It’s nice to see how the same views look in a different light. I bought two tickets, but couldn’t use the second one, because there was quite a long queue after the first ride. So, I guess I’ll be back with more photos next week 🙂 But until then, here you have some aerial views of Luxembourg in the evening (click here if you want to use some of these photos): I’ve also made a short video so you can test …

Réiser Päerdsdeeg / CSIO de Luxembourg 2017

Réiser Päerdsdeeg / CSIO de Luxembourg

This Saturday I paid a very short visit to Réiser Päerdsdeeg / CSIO de Luxembourg, at the Herschesfeld ground, in Roeser. My kids loved the horses last year, so I couldn’t miss it. It was a rainy day, so maybe that’s why I didn’t see too many people at the event. But those who were there seemed to have enjoyed it.  I shot some photos: If you want, you can still go today and the next weekend, 6-9 July 2017. Find more info on their website.

Luxembourg from above: photos from City Skyliner

When I first heard about the City Skyliner coming to Luxembourg I was thrilled. See, I just love seeing the cities from above, so I always try to find the highest place wherever I go. So, when the Skyliner opened up, I had to take a ride on the first day. Installed in Place de la Constitution, the mobile tower is 81 m high and offers a (rotating) panoramic view over Luxembourg City. The ticket costs 7 euro for adults, the ride takes about 15 minutes in total, and the views are lovely. It operates between 11 a.m. and 9 …
